Travel lasts 45 minutes and costs about 1 US $ (please exchange foreign currency at airport OTOPENI because all the payment on Romanian territory is in LEI ( 1 US $ = 8.600 LEI at 15.01.1998). From North Bucharest to Sinaia the trains leave also at one hour intervals, the cost is about 10 US $. A coach may assure the travel from the airport to Sinaia (hotels), only if there are enough requests on the participants' behalf. The ticket costs: 7 US $/person. Taxi from Airport to Bucharest Nord railway station is about 15 US $. On Sunday, 16-th August at Sinaia railway station a shuttle bus will be provided to transport all of you up to Palace Hotel (desk office of LOC). Participants arriving at other time will have to arrange their own transport (by taxi the cost is about 5 US $, or about 10 minutes walk). For MT-DIW4 participants on Friday 14 August a trans- portation will be provided from Sinaia railway station to Caraiman Hotel. PASSPORT AND VISA All the foreign visitors are required to carry a valid passport. Concerning visas, LOC made an inquiry on visas to the Ministry of Foreing Affairs of Romania, but the requirements depend on countries. Participants are advised to check the visa status well before the EM Induction Workshop. BANKING It is recommended to exchange foreign currency at Otopeni Airport to have Romanian money (LEI) up to Sinaia. In Sinaia all the hotels have exchange office (Visa and Master cards are available), also in town there are a lot of Banks. ACCOMMODATION Accommodation is rather restricted, taking into account that Sinaia is a touristic town, but LOC will try to solve any requests from participants.
