( The Southern African MagnetoTelluric EXperiment)

The most recent phase (IV) of fieldwork was finished in June 2008. An additional 151 broadband MT sites, 30 long-period MT sites and 22 AMT sites were deployed in Namibia, Botswana and South Africa, and demanded a lot of logistical skills and support - especially for the part inside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR).

The map shows the total site coverage of the SAMTEX project (phase I - IV).
